In 2009 Pat decided to combine her passion for teaching with her love of dancing and began instructing a small group of women in the art of urban line dancing. Her group quickly grew and she found herself teaching children and adults ranging in age from six through ninety plus years. Wanting to ensure that all people felt welcomed and encouraged, she named her group ERRRVERYBODi Line Dancers.

She incorporated the mathematical symbol for “pi” π, into the group name to bring together her love of teaching math and dance and Ms. Pat set as the goals and purpose of her dance group, the promotion of community support and involvement, as well as personal health and wellness through dance.

To that end, the ERRRVERYBODi Line Dancers participate in and perform at many community events including: the United Negro College Fund; The Catfish Club; The Mt. View Ski Club Annual Scholarship Fundraiser; the Southeast San Diego American Cancer Society Relay for Life; the San Diego Black Nurses’ Health Fair; The Cooper Family Juneteenth Celebrations; the Diamond Business District Community Fair; the San Diego County Live Well Resource Fair; the United Domestic Workers’ Black History Month Celebration; The Black Infant Health Annual Old School Sun in the Fun Event and many more. Working with several Community Centers and YMCA locations, she encourages seniors to improve and sustain their physical, mental and emotional health through dance movement.

Under Ms. Pat’s direction, the ERRRVERYBODi Line Dancers are regulars at the Diamond Business District Farmers’ Market encouraging those in attendance to get up and move as they teach and perform easy line dances, as well as supporting vendors through their purchases. Ms. Pat has taught, encouraged and supported other San Diego area line dancers to become instructors and develop their own classes.
