Treat yourself unapologetically is part of Ashley McGirt’s Worldwide Wellness tour that will be hitting a variety of US Cities and Countries as part of a campaign to destigmatize mental illness, and promote the importance of restoring mental health. Through treating yourself unapologetically you will be a part of a facinating mental health discussion featuring clinicians of color who will be answering your questions and speaking on topics such as depression, anxiety, and racial trauma.
Through attending this event you will hear insights on :
*The direction of mental health in the Black and Latinx community
*How to combat depression & anxiety
*How to support/encourage others to seek treatment through therapeutic services
*How to discuss mental health with your family

We will provide a brunch meal, music, and poetry, among other entertainment.

an Diego Artist Kim Phillips-Pea has always been a huge fan, lover and student of the arts. Beginning with the orchestra and choir at Baker Elementary then continuing at SDSCPA, Kim’s love for art includes creative bead work, painting murals and drawing.

As the Art Director of the recent Hip Hop 5k Health and Wellness Festival, Kim’s team featured 3 miles of visual art, a pop-up art gallery and multiple new murals have been approved for the Southeast San Diego Community with one already installed at a local market on Logan Ave. Kim can be found volunteering on weekends holding free paint parties for the youth. One of her main goals is to open a local art gallery with space for workshops.

About 5 years ago I had a dream… That all my friends would come out 2 my 50th b-day party! 😅 I also thought a Harlem Nights Style party would be a super cool theme 👍🏾 … hopefully you all agree. Should be fun. I can see the pics now! We are in the beginning stages. I wasn’t positive if I was going to go through w/ this. Quite a few friends have agreed to help me so I am very appreciative! Can’t thank you all enough! I have a venue booked & we’re finalizing the details. I will update this invite in a couple of days. At this time I just want to see if my peeps can SAVE THE DATE. JANUARY 5th, on a Saturday! It’s party time, oohh it’s party time!!

I’m only charging an entrance fee because of the venue price/decorations/food.

Killer Stairs w/ Sirius Fitness! We are hitting up the Convention Center Stairs Sunday Morning at 7am! (Park Downtown for free near Gaslamp sign!)

1- We meet at the Convention Center Stairs!

2- We go Up and Down the Stairs 10 times (or whatever you can do!)

3- We add Push-ups, Squats, Wall-sits, etc. to the mix!

4- We have Fun!

Join us to obtain information on how this could be possible. Hear from the Assistant Head Band Director from Jackson State as well as our Alumni Students who are currently a part of most respected music program at an HBCU.

Heartbeat has trained and assisted students in obtaining scholarships for marching bands, vocal, jazz and concert bands under the leadership and guidance of our Executive Director, Tyra Hawthorne.

This event is highly recommended for students in grades 6th-12th.
