On October 11, 2019, the NAACP San Diego Branch will engage in a grand celebration of our 100th Anniversary with the best Freedom Fund Dinner we have ever had. This year we have the opportunity to obtain the Grammy Award-Winning Artist, Mr Curtis Taylor and his trio to entertain us during this grand celebration. You won’t want to miss him.
The Freedom Fund Dinner is scheduled for October 11, 2019 at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation located at 404 Euclid Ave, San Diego, CA 92114 from 06:00pm to 10:00pm.
The Freedom Fund Dinner is an annual event that, in addition to celebrating our supporters, recognizes groups and individuals who have contributed to the cause of Civil Rights and racial justice throughout the City, County, State and Nation. This year will be an extraordinary celebration, as we look back on the 100 years since the founding of the San Diego Branch, and look forward to our bright future.
The evening is sure to be memorable and enjoyable for all.
California NOW is excited to celebrate the ‘Art of Gender Equity.’
As we align our actions with our mission state and dedicate ourselves to the delicate art of intersectionality, we are reminded, leading with the ‘all’ in mind is a craft.
On December 6, 2019, join us to honor those who have dedicated themselves to thinking and acting intersectionally.
Join us in celebrating the achievements of our Gender Equity Champions.
Together we can create programs and public policies that put human rights based intersectional gender equity at the center and places women of color, not just in the frame, but in decision making leadership positions. Together we can integrate and engage men and boys to join women and girls in dismantling racialized hetero-patriarchal gender norms and through the creation of strategic alliances that incorporate our collective knowledge, leadership and power we can dismantle all other forms of structural oppression.
To get there, we need to reach the people using every tool available, especially as we move forward to educate, fight and win the battle in creating a more just and equitable world.
We are so excited for all of the 2019 G.E.W.E.L.S., L.A.C.E.D., C.H.A.M.P., E.M.P.I.R.E. and Jr. C.H.A.M.P., participants that will graduate this December at our Graduation Gala!
We invite you all to join us for an evening of fun, inspiration, amazing food and music as we celebrate the accomplishments of our program participants and announce upcoming activities in 2020.
