THE SOUTHEAST BLACKOUT is a Vendor Expo aimed towards black owned businesses or brands wanting and needing positive exposure. This is a great way for our community to network and for our local entrepreneurs to get their name out in the surrounding areas of San Diego, CA. This event will take place at the Jacobs Center September 15th from 12pm-5pm. We are looking for all types of vendors but we will cap at 40 vendors. Once you have purchased your Vendor Ticket, you will receive a Vendor Application to fill out and send back ASAP. Vendors with food, or alcoholic beverages please email southeastblackout@gmail.com before purchasing a booth.

Not looking to be a vendor but looking forward to attending and supporting these small businesses? No worries! Tickets are only $10.00-$15.00 online or $25.00 at the door (while supplies last). This event will cap at 500 attendees. Tickets include admission, 1 raffle ticket, 1 drink ticket to the bar (valid 12pm-2pm), access to vendors, and food stations. EARLY BIRD TICKETS END JULY 15TH.

CELEBRATE, PARTY AND WHILE YOU ARE AT IT GET YOUR HAIR CUT. WE ARE HAVING A GRAND RE-OPENING TO INTRODUCE THE NEW HOTNESS! PREPARED TO GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN AND TO BE APART OF GREATNESS ON THE RISE.

This year, we had the honor of graduating the fourth cohort of our Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute and the 14th class of our Students for Economic Justice Fellowship.

Over the course of six months, 13 community leaders expanded their skills to serve on commissions and seven students learned and practiced organizing skills in on-the-ground organizing campaigns led by local labor and community partners.

Now it’s time to celebrate these visionary leaders!

We invite you to join us—and City of San Diego Councilmember Monica Montgomery—to recognize their achievements and celebrate our growing community of leaders and organizers working to create a more equitable San Diego region.

Record clearing event with the San Diego Public Defenders Office and job fair with employers who are willing to hire individuals who may have been touched by the criminal justice system,

You are cordially invited to join CAT on the 4th Monday of every month at 7:00 pm {EXCEPT MAY, NOVEMBER & DECEMBER} for an evening of sharing of talents…yours and ours. Talents that we invite you to showcase are: Poetry, Monologues, Spoken Word, Skits, Singing and/or Dancing, Drumming, Current Events, Magic Tricks, Clean Comedy, Excerpts from plays, etc., etc.. Potential Performers, please sign-up on the Sign-In “PERFORMER’S LIST” before 7:00 pm. Each performer will have 10-12 minutes to perform….depending on how many performers we have for the night. Please bring other family members, friends, and co-workers with you. They can perform, or be our audience. Suggested donation is $5.00 per person. However, we appreciate any and all donations.

This event is designed for community partners, that have expertise in this space and are interested in learning about our cascade model for healing circles. This event is not open to the general public. It is specifically for our peace practitioners and experts.

Our shop supports work by marginalized people with disabilities, HIV/AIDS, and victims of human trafficking using products that are naturally sourced resources from their area region, or made from recycled materials. Every beautifully made product has its own story!

The wait is almost over! Cut By James is gearing up, and can’t wait to put on “CUT – The Hair and Barber Show, Round 2”!!! Last years show was EPIC, and this year will be even Bigger and Better!

Come out and meet, consult with, and cheer on San Diego’s Premier Barber’s and Stylist as they compete and showcase their skills/craft! Enjoy a fully catered dinner buffet and dessert bar, along with a cash bar with crafted cocktails! Raffled prizes will be given away to conclude the show, and don’t forget to snap a couple of keepsake complimentary photos at the photo booth!

Our entertainment line up will be even greater this year!!! We’ve got Music Artist, Comedians, Dancers, and a Fashion Show, and so much more!
