International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement is the leading organization bringing African people globally into political life for Independence and Self Governance.

Our San Diego Branch has been one of the fastest growing areas in the world. We are currently working to bring African Internationalism and provide support for Beta Selam Academy. We are also bringing African Internationalism across the border to Tijuana and providing resources to the Africans who are chasing their stolen resources to the united states.

In addition to local work, we are travelling to St. Petersburg, FL February 1 to February 3 for the African People’s Socialist Party’s Plenary to the 7th Congress that occurred in Ocotober 2018. The Plenary will have several organizations & institutions provide reports on the work that has been completed since the 7th Congress and what will be completed over the next phase.

Join us as we listen to the sounds of our comrades dropping wax all night – Exalted Roots will be playing the best in Black Liberation music of the 60s/70s and Willy Guttz plays from his deep collection of roots & culture.

35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Human Dignity Breakfast @ Town and Country San Diego
Jan 17 @ 6:00 am – 9:00 am

Join us as we pay tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His words and selfless actions continue to be an inspiration and never-ending call-to-action for tolerance and peace with each new generation.

The Human Dignity Award annually honors an individual or group who have demonstrated extraordinary achievement and commitment in promoting the value and importance defined by the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We were proud to announce last year’s Human Dignity Award Winner, the San Diego-based Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF). The foundation was founded in 1995 after Tariq Khamisa, a 20-year-old college student, was killed by 14-year-old gang member Tony Hicks. Hicks was tried as an adult for murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison.

This event will sell out, so reserve your spot early! Visit https://www.ymca.org/get-involved/events/dr-martin-luther-king-jr-award-breakfast to reserve your table(s) online.
