DNA Lineage Workshop – Free Spots while they lasts

History Makers Workshop
Workshop participants will learn how to tell their American story using pictures, oral stories, government documents and DNA in context of events in American history. The final product of the workshop will be a history book that each research pair will take home. Copies of the history book will also be donated to the school library of each participant’s school. The OGL curriculum is STEAM based and teaches participants how to tell their story using multiple disciplines. Workshops will be led by a professional genealogist and subject matter experts will be brought in as needed.

Registration available for individual researchers and research teams. Students in grades 6 – 12 can register with an adult. One member of each research team must DNA test. Each research team will work together over the course of 8 weeks to discover their American story. Research teams can consist of up to 3 members.

No previous research experience is required. Collaboration between generations is a crucial component to adding more diversity to the official American storyline.

Each research team must attend one of the orientation sessions and agree to attend the 8 workshop dates. The OGL will provide FREE access to the World Ancestry database including FOLD3 and Newspapers.com for 6 months from the date of the first workshop.
