Free Art Program for San Diego Teens.

Are you interested in art? Then the AIGA San Diego LINK program is for you. You’ll not only learn from professionals but learn things like tenacity and how to see a project through to the end. The program is FREE and includes 10 workshops, art supplies and snacks. LINK meets twice a month on Saturdays at 9:00am–1:00pm.

To sign up, all you have to do:
1. Be a student between the ages of 14–19.
2. Have an interest in art/design.
3. Reside in San Diego County.
4. Qualify based on the income chart on the flier image.
5. Bring 3 pieces of artwork and fill out an application at the orientation.

Please bring 3 samples of your artwork or photographs of large pieces. Be prepared to talk about your work. If you are under 18, your parents will need to sign a consent form at the start of the program. (All art supplies for the program are provided by AIGA San Diego LINK). If you would like to bring a filled out application please send a email up to three days prior to the orientation.

STEAM Leaders Summit @ PLNU CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

This interactive event is for the adult program leaders and community stakeholders of STEM/STEAM camps in San Diego to come together and collaborate on a strategy to increase the number of children interested in pursuing careers in STEAM, especially people of color.

You can expect presentations, workshops, break out sessions and networking with industry leaders.

Join in for an ‘Author Talk’ with Wanjiru Warama, as she shares her book, “Unexpected in America,” the first book in a series of mainstream memoirs, which tells the thrilling tale of Wanjiru Warama’s departure from Kenya. She’ll also share her latest release, “Entangled in America,” an adventurous tale, detailing Wanjiru’s experiences during her decades in America.
