This STEM event provides local San Diego students, grades 6-12 (school-year 2018/2019) with an opportunity to learn more about military STEM careers. NNOA will award 2 lucky students (2018/19 Graduating Seniors only) with $500 scholarships to apply towards college.

Where Business, Law, & Tech Intersect @ Latham & Watkins

As Blacks in Technology San Diego strives to highlight industry leaders, we will host a special panel creating awareness and sharing knowledge on the latest technology trends through the lens of San Diego’s most powerful and brightest attorneys. As much of our intended audience are entrepreneurs, attorneys, and tech professionals seeking to advance their career, this panel is designed to share new innovation, standards, policies, and forecasts with legal insight. Panelists range from boutique law experts specializing in Intellectual Property, Labor & Employment, and Technology and Venture Capital to general counsel directing some of San Diegos Fortune 500 companies. This event will take place at the offices of Latham and Watkins in the Del Mar Heights area. Doors open at 6:00pm. Panel starts promptly at 7:00. Post networking mixer at Hotel Indigo Restaurant & Bar. $10 Requested Donation.

As a part of New Tech’s ongoing spotlight around diversity and inclusion, join us for an evening of conversation around the issues and obstacles we face as womxn, BIPOC, & LGBTQ people in this new tech industry landscape. This month we will be highlighting the unique experience and contributions of Black Women in STEM.

McKinsey management consultant firm in partnership with LeanIn 2020 report just released a report on women of in the workplace with alarming data regarding black women in the workplace. You can view the report here.

100 Black Men of the Bay Area & Dreamers in Tech- Bridging the Gap In Tech @ Online Event

The tech landscape is changing as more and more companies realize the importance of having a diverse workforce and creating inclusive cultures within their organizations. On November 17th, join the 100 Black Men of the Bay Area and Dreamers in Tech (a professional tech organization that supports undocumented individuals) for the “Bridging the Gap In Tech” panel discussion and hiring fair.

 

Learn about what organizations are doing and can do to create more inclusive spaces for Black and Brown employees. Learn about employee resource groups (ERG’s) and how they are redefining the culture of tech. Hear about which organizations are being intentional about providing resources to Black and Brown communities.

 

This event is open to all ages, races, genders and geographic locations, and there will be over a dozen recruiters on the call looking to connect with BIPOC looking for career opportunities.

 

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with a new career in tech. Confirmed organizations attending in addition to the Dreamers in Tech and the 100 Black Men of the Bay Area include Standard Cognition, AppDynamics, Okta, Twilio and many more.
